Description

Use knitting for your mission.

Bring Knit for Wildlife into your organisation.

Our Organisation Membership gives you a 6-month licence to use the open-access knitting patterns created by our Knitters in Residence in your own non-commercial education, engagement and outreach activities.

Run a workshop. Start a knit-along. Bring Knit for Wildlife into a classroom, museum, university, conference, festival or community event.

YOUR MEMBERSHIP INCLUDES

For six months, your organisation can use our Knitters in Residence open-access patterns for:

  • Workshops and events
  • Education and teaching
  • Community activities
  • Public outreach
  • Knit-alongs
  • Classes and courses
  • Conferences and festivals

There is no participant limit.

You can print and share the patterns with participants as part of your activities. You can also use existing educational resources connected to the patterns, where available.

You’ll also receive a digital Knit for Wildlife Organisation Member badge to use during your membership.

WHY A LICENCE IF THE PATTERNS ARE FREE?

Our Knitters in Residence patterns are open access and free for individual knitters. We want to keep them that way.

The Organisation Membership gives your organisation permission to use them as part of organised programming, education and public engagement.

Your membership also supports Knit for Wildlife and helps us create new residencies, new open-access patterns and new ways to connect people with wildlife through knitting.

MAKE IT ACCESSIBLE.

Working with a small NGO, community initiative or organisation where €195 is simply too much? Talk to us. We offer a limited number of reduced-price memberships to help Knit for Wildlife travel further.

KEEP THE WILDLIFE STORY IN THE LOOP

Knit for Wildlife patterns are more than knitting patterns. Each one was created from a real wildlife, conservation, science or cultural story.

When using the patterns through an Organisation Membership, we ask that the story behind the design remains part of the activity.

How you do that is up to you. It could be through a workshop, talk, resource, discussion, exhibition, social post or something completely different.

The format is yours. The wildlife connection stays.

NON-COMMERCIAL USE

This licence is for education, engagement and outreach.

It does not give permission to sell or redistribute the patterns, manufacture or sell products based on the patterns or designs, include them in commercial products or kits, or develop other commercial initiatives using the patterns or designs.

It also does not grant permission to use the Knit for Wildlife name or branding in a way that suggests an official commercial partnership.

Have another idea? Talk to us. Commercial collaborations are possible through a separate agreement.

SHOW US WHAT YOU DO!

We’d LOVE to see where you take Knit for Wildlife.

Tag @knitforwildlife when you share your workshops, events and creations. You’re also very welcome to invite us as a collaborator on relevant posts. We love sharing what organisations and their communities create.
