Big News: Knit for Wildlife is Heading to CommOCEAN 2026!

We have some incredibly exciting news to share! This fall, Knit for Wildlife is taking the stage in Bergen for the prestigious CommOCEAN conference on September 2-3, 2026.

We’ve been invited to present our concept and share how knitting, community, and marine science communication can beautifully intertwine to protect our oceans. This conference isn’t just a big step for our project; it’s also a wonderful community reunion. Three vital pieces of the Knit for Wildlife journey will be joining forces on-site in Bergen:

  • Lena: Project founder and coordinator.
  • Libby: Our right hand and an amazing alumnus from our very first pilot cohort.
  • Sydney: A brilliant maker from our current Knitters-in-Residence cohort.

We cannot wait to finally meet up in person, knit together, and share our passion for wildlife protection with ocean communicators from all over the world.

More Details Coming Soon!

We are still iron out the final details of our presentation and activities, but we promise some truly exciting things are on the horizon. Keep an eye on this space. We will share the full schedule as soon as it’s locked in.

Bergen, here we come! capturing the world’s attention through the power of the knitting community!
