The Vega World Heritage Center recently hosted a vibrant “strikkedilla” event, bringing the community together for a dedicated workshop focused on mastering two-color knitting.

Exploring Two-Color Knitting

For this workshop, the focus was entirely on building confidence with colorwork. Learning to manage two strands of yarn at once requires a beautiful sense of rhythm and patience. It is a skill that opens up endless possibilities for creating intricate patterns, while offering a wonderful space for focus and mental clarity.

By welcoming knitters into this space to try something new, the event grounded our project in what matters most: community connection, personal well-being, and a shared passion for the needles.

Knitted Narratives

While participants practiced managing their colors, the workshop also served as an introduction to the core themes of our current cohort. Every piece of colorwork knit here connects back to the landscape of the Vega archipelago and the urgent conversation surrounding local seabird decline.

We are incredibly grateful to the Vega World Heritage Center for organizing this “strikkedilla” and providing the perfect space for local knitters to expand their skills, share stories, and support the initiative.
